Week 3 — Calling: What Am I Here to Do?

• We are drowning in “good.”
• Most of what keeps us from calling isn’t sin — it’s noise, expectations, and endless small yeses.
• The enemy of the best is rarely the worst — it’s the good.
• You cannot take hold of the path meant for you while your hands are full of shells that aren’t yours to carry.
• This is why the NOOMA Shells video is the emotional doorway into calling — you must drop something before you can receive something.
• Today is not about doing more; it’s about releasing what is not yours so you can see what is.

Student Reading: • Jeremiah 1:5 — “Known before sent.”
God knew you, formed you, and set you apart before you ever took a breath.
Your calling begins with being known, not with doing something impressive.
• Ephesians 2:10 — “God prepared the path.”
God has already prepared good work for you to walk in.
Calling is not something you invent — it’s something you step into.
• John 10 — “The Shepherd calls by name.”
Jesus knows your name and leads you personally.
Calling is not generic — it is relational and specific.
• Isaiah 61 — “Restoration reveals the map.”
God heals, restores, and rebuilds what is broken — and in that restoration, your purpose becomes clearer.
Calling grows out of the places God has restored in you.
• Ezekiel 37 — “Breath leads to movement.”
When God breathes life into you, you rise and move with purpose.
Calling is animated by the Spirit, not by your own effort.
• Romans 12 — “Renewed perception brings clarity.”
As your mind is renewed, you begin to see your life, your gifts, and your direction differently.
Clarity comes from transformation, not striving.
• 1 Corinthians 12 — “The journey is shared.”
Your gifts are meant to bless others, and their gifts bless you.
Calling is always communal, never solo.
